Circulo de Chica y Tambor / Chicha & Mother Drum Circle

Chicha is a traditional fermented beverage from Central & South America, made from corn and other ingredients. For the Incas, Chicha was a ceremonial drink used in rituals to open the heart and voice, to honor the ancestors, and for community bonding. Chica contains the medicine and teachings of fermentation, and carries the nourishing energy of the milk of the mother. Traditional Chicha songs and dance will be shared.

The large Mother Drum is a drum that is traditionally used at Sundance ceremonies and powwows. It is a community drum where multiple people sit around the circle and play the drum together. When we play the drum together in this way we harmonize our energies and create a single, unified prayer. We align our heartbeats with each other, with the drum and with Mother Earth, sending healing to the Earth and all of her creations. Traditional medicine songs will be taught and shared.

La chicha es una bebida fermentada tradicional de Centroamérica y Sudamérica, hecho de maíz y otros ingredientes. Para los Incas, la chicha era una bebida ceremonial utilizada en rituales para abrir el corazón y la voz, honrar a los ancestros y fortalecer los lazos comunitarios. La chicha contiene la medicina y las enseñanzas de la fermentación, y porta la energía nutritiva de la leche materna. Se compartirán cantos y danzas tradicionales de chicha.

El gran tambor Madre es un tambor que se utiliza tradicionalmente en las ceremonias de la Danza del Sol y en los powwows. Es un tambor comunitario donde varias personas se sientan en círculo y lo tocan juntas. Al tocar el tambor juntas de esta manera, armonizamos nuestras energías y creamos una oración única y unificada. Sincronizamos nuestros latidos con los de los demás, con el tambor y con la Madre Tierra, enviando sanación a la Tierra y a toda su creación. Se enseñarán y compartirán cantos medicinales tradicionales.
